About the SMC
As per the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009, every school is required to constitute a School Management Committee. The SMC of Erny Memorial Senior Secondary School is a statutory body that oversees the management and development of the school, ensures transparency, and promotes community participation in school governance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and recommend the school development plan
- Monitor the utilisation of school funds
- Ensure that the curriculum and syllabi are followed
- Review the maintenance of buildings, equipment & furniture
- Ensure enrolment and attendance of all students
Composition
- 75% elected parents of children enrolled
- Teachers and non-teaching staff representatives
- Local elected authority representative
- School Principal (member secretary)
- Educationists and social workers nominated by govt
